We recommend flying into San Francisco International Airport (SFO). While there are other airport options, SFO will have the most options for flights and is also the closest to the venues. Flying to SFO will make your trip to the venue easiest.
Note: Airports now require either REAL ID or a passport. Please make sure you have the proper documentation for your flight!
We recommend booking your flights as early as you are comfortable doing so. The further out you book, the better the prices are for tickets.
We also suggest using Google Flight Tracker to track flight prices for your planned travel days. This price tracker will notify you when prices are low so you can get the best price for your flight.
We highly recommend our guests book rooms at the Palace Hotel. We have a room block at the Palace so guests can get discounted rooms. The Palace will be the venue for the Welcome Party, Cocktail Hour & Reception, as well as Sunday Brunch. Additionally, we will have transportation for our guests staying at the Palace to bring you to and from San Francisco City Hall for the ceremony.
To find the hotel contact information, please refer to our Travel & Stay page.
In August, San Francisco is known for its mild temperatures, persistent fog, and very low chance of rain. This counter-intuitive summer weather is so famous that the month is sometimes called "Fogust." The fog is locally nicknamed "Karl the Fog" and Karl typically makes his appearance mostly in the morning and starts to clear in the afternoon, leading to sunny skies.
We recommend packing in layers for the changing weather and if you want to do a lot of exploring in the city, comfortable shoes for the hills! If you are planning on adventuring outside the city, please note that San Francisco and it's mild temperatures is it's own climate. For venturing out of the city, you will need to pack for hot and sunny weather.
Like most cities, some areas are better than others. Our venues are located in safe areas, but we still recommend guests to be vigilante of their belongings.
If you plan to rent a car, just be aware that some populated tourist locations can be hot spots for car break-ins . We suggest you don't leave anything valuable in your vehicles or try to conceal any items from view.
